Just before bedtime, Ira was at the craft booth. Leaves skittered across the sidewalk. Ira wanted to complete a scavenger hunt list. At first, they couldn’t find something “smooth and round”. They searched the playground and the garden path. They looked in the science room’s rock collection. Even though it took longer than expected, they found a polished stone and crossed it off the list. Later, Ira thought about what had worked and what hadn’t.
